At RuramaiAFRICA, we leverage the intrinsic power and beauty of cultural dance to foster socio-economic growth and safeguard Zimbabwe’s intangible heritage. Our approach transforms traditional knowledge into a viable, dynamic creative economy for young people. We establish and support the manager of professional cultural dance troupes, directly employing youth as skilled performers, choreographers, musicians, and costume artisans. This provides sustainable, dignified income within the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCIs). Beyond performance, our dancers are trained as certified instructors, leading cultural workshops for schools and the tourism sector, diversifying their income streams and promoting arts entrepreneurship. This comprehensive model turns artistic passion into professional purpose. Through cultural dance, RuramaiAFRICA is actively building a resilient creative sector where heritage and economic opportunity move in perfect synchrony.
In 2022, our intensive training culminated in a momentous victory when the Dapurahunanzva Dance Troup achieved 1st Place at the prestigious Chibuku Neshamwari National Finals. This national title underscored the profound technical skill and heritage fidelity instilled by our master instructors.
Continuing this legacy, our work with Chenhaka Dance Academy in Manicaland has demonstrated sustained impact. Through focused mentorship and capacity building, Chenhaka secured the 3rd Prize at the 2024 Provincial Finals, followed by an impressive leap to 2nd Prize in 2025.
These achievements demonstrate RuramaiAFRICAs unwavering commitment to transforming raw talent into nationally recognised champions, thereby elevating the profile and professional viability of Zimbabwe’s cultural artists.
